Alpinestars Supertech R10 LE Martinator R01 Helmet
The Supertech R10 is the result of over ten years of study, development, and testing by Alpinestars, aimed at creating the most advanced and protective race helmet possible. It was developed with MotoGP legend Andrea Dovizioso and riders Jorge Martin and Jack Miller, and this LE Martinator R01 is a limited edition colourway of that helmet.
It is built for racers and fast road riders, blending excellent ventilation, class-leading comfort, and low weight with a carbon multi-composite shell. It is homologated to ECE 22.06, DOT, and FIM standards, making it suitable for both road and sanctioned track use.
What's in the Box
- Two shields (clear and dark smoke)
- Two interchangeable spoilers (Race and Road)

Outer Shell Construction
The shell uses advanced molding technology with a multi-composite combination: a 3K high-density carbon outer layer, a uni-directional carbon composite layer, an aramid fiber layer, and a fiberglass layer. The 3K carbon provides strength and efficient energy dissipation across the shell. The uni-directional carbon adds radial strength to prevent compression while allowing controlled deflection to reduce transmitted impact energy, and the aramid and fiberglass layers provide penetration protection.
Everything is bonded with an advanced epoxy resin already applied to the pre-preg fiber, controlling the proportion of resin to fiber to maximise strength and keep weight low. In Alpinestars' in-house impact testing, the S-R10 exceeded ECE 22.06 limits by an average of 37% in direct linear impacts and by 65% in rotational and oblique impacts.
Inner Shell and Impact Management
The S-R10 has four inner shells to match its four outer shell sizes, available in four anatomical sizes for correct fit, lower weight, and better impact performance. Beneath the outer shell is an eight-piece multi-density EPS liner with six densities positioned in different zones for energy absorption and a close fit, with its own dimensions for each helmet size.
The EPS inner surface is polished smooth and specially coated to reduce friction, allowing the comfort liner to move against the EPS. This patented technology lets the head move independently inside the helmet, reducing rotational, oblique, and linear forces transmitted to the head, neck, brain, and spine, and reducing the possibility of concussion.
Chin Bar Profile
The chin bar base is sculpted to give a relief section. The bottom profile is raised to clear the collarbone, and instead of the hard carbon shell contacting the collarbone, the S-R10 uses a softer EPP (expanded polypropylene) liner that extends beyond the shell and is covered by a flexible rubber compound, reducing the chance of collarbone injury.
A-Head Fitment System
The patented A-Head Fitment System lets the helmet be tuned to the rider's preference by adjusting both the height and the angle at which it sits on the head. The EPS is built around this system for an ultra-specific setup that adapts to how deep the rider's head sits and how far forward or backward the helmet is tilted.
Aerodynamics
Developed with CFD simulations and validated in the wind tunnel and on track, the S-R10 is optimized for low drag and maximum aerodynamic stability. It achieves the lowest drag and highest high-speed stability of any race helmet Alpinestars has tested, and is already the helmet of choice for factory MotoGP teams. Road riders benefit from reduced neck strain at speed and low wind noise.
It comes with two spoilers, a standard and a longer race version, both using an Alpinestars patented release system with elastic joints that help the spoiler detach under significant impact, at any angle, to reduce rotational energy. Lateral winglets support stability and improve drag, and visor turbulators improve aero-acoustic performance. With the race spoiler and aero winglets fitted together, drag is reduced by an additional 4.54% compared with the standard road spoiler configuration.
Ventilation
The Supertech R10 has 11 ventilation points, not including the eye port: 7 intakes (3 in the chin guard and 4 on the top) and 4 exhausts (2 lateral ports on the chin bar and 2 on the top rear). The ports integrate with the shell through air ducts in the inner EPS liner, so airflow enters, circulates over and around the head, and is extracted out the back.
The top vent features a large central slider that channels air to the top of the head and, when open, extracts hot air from the forehead. Two extractor vents under the rear spoiler exhaust hot air. The chin vents channel air toward the inner side of the shields, creating a laminated airflow that helps prevent fogging and misting, and also extract humid air out of the helmet.
Shield Features
The shield mechanism uses metal lock components to prevent unwanted detachment during impacts, locked closed by a front metal lock. A lowered side line maximises the field of view on top of an already wide eyeport that provides 220 degrees of lateral and 57 degrees of vertical visibility.
The shield attaches via side cam mechanisms, allowing it to rotate and seal against the rubber window trim, and can be changed or removed with a tool-less quick-release system. The Optical Class 1 shield is 3mm thick with anti-scratch and anti-fog coating, with internal pins for a Pinlock 120XLT 100% Max Vision lens and external pins for tear-offs.
Removable Lining
All linings are removable, washable, and treated with anti-microbial fabrics.
- Crown pad: Elastically connected to the neck pad for enhanced oblique impact management, built from four panels (front, sides, rear) for an optimized fit and foam thickness.
- Top pad: Removable and height adjustable via the A-Head Fitment System.
- Cheek pads: Premium foam and fabrics for comfort and breathability, with an emergency extraction system for trackside and medical staff, plus a channel for a hydration system.
Weight
The ECE, DOT, and FIM certified Supertech R10 weighs 1,540 grams for a size medium, or 3.4 pounds, giving it an extremely high performance-to-protection-to-weight ratio.
